This week has been a roller coaster!
I need rest 😓
Arun wrote on his blog about the macOS System Preferences app and its design over the years and several macOS versions ( wasn’t it Mac OS a few years ago?).
Very interesting read. Being able to visualise the changes over time like this really puts the hard work the Designers & Developers, over at Apple, put into their craft.
PS: I haven’t mentioned this before, I really admire the design of his blog and the time he puts behind every single post.
As if 2020 wasn’t stressful already, Apple decided it wasn’t enough and turned things up to 11 for all 3rd party devs.
Since December of 2019, I’d been really looking forward to today, the Annual September Apple Event when Apple launches new phones.
My iPhone X of almost 3 years is showing its age. I was looking forward to upgrade it. Seems like that isn’t happening today, but I have my fingers crossed that Apple launches at least the non-Pro phones today.
Made pulled chicken for the first time last night. Turned out pretty well, would have preferred it to be a bit more hot. Added jalapeños and habanero sauce on top to pack some extra heat. 🥪
Will be spending a good part of my Saturday creating better rules in Mail.app to categorise my email either automatically or manually (using the Apply Rule option).
I need a much much improved system for this. Receiving 30 updates from Github itself with repos across 4 orgs induces an odd feeling I definitely do not like. Need those emails away from my eyes until I decide to look at them.
Discovered a house plant dressed in rain water and decided to click some still life shots. It had been a while since I shot still life that wasn’t “tech appliances”. A big thanks to my wife who helped with holding those backdrops in place and holding the portable light.
Today I discovered music by Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
Today is a good day. Here’s the playlist I’m vibing to right now.
Gorgeous moon rise today.
Elytra was featured again on the AppStore yesterday. 🎉
Made 3-cheese pizza for dinner last night. I’m slowly getting the dough right.
I still can’t find a decent oven stone in my city or state.
O’right, the setting sun is making things interesting.
Some panorama shots of the incoming clouds ☁️
The monsoon clouds are closing in.
Spotted a “Bob Ross” Cloud today. :]
As an Airtel Cellular Services subscriber, I am not sure how I feel about Amazon looking to buy shares worth $2Bn.
If and when that happens, I’m sure AMZ will find a way to start snooping on stuff and extend their CDNs to Airtel’s Media apps.
Glorious sunset sky lines after a storm.
The only thing I could pair with the stormy weather we have in Pune right now was some Ramen noodles. Nothing else would do justice.
I released Elytra for Web in Public Beta earlier today. I have been working on it since Dec. 2019 and I’m so glad to finally push out a web project after 4 years of hiatus.

Apple has finally improved and optimised the AMD6000X kext (Navi GPUs) in MacOS 10.15.5 yielding a 8K point improvement in Geekbench.
Seeing overall improved performance in FCPX and Resolve 16 as well.
Updated the wallpaper to something less flashy. I believe I am now set.
I don’t know why I didn’t get monitor arms sooner. Got my shipment today. Took 30-min to setup and adjust and now I have so much free space on my desk.
Changi Airport’s (Singapore) Terminal 4 has been working on an automated check-in, immigration and departure system where the passenger does not interact with any ground staff….since 2018. Is this the future for all airports considering the 2020 pandemic?
