This is my personal blog
  • My fiancée with Anuj’s Dusky. She’s an absolute delight to be around and one of the first dogs I’ve met in recent times who is extremely well behaved without any training.

  • Plublished the custom theme for Elytra’s Blog which I have been working on for over 2 years.

I was determined to finish it today so I sat down, completed it and uploaded it. It has minor bugs here and there which I’ll fix throughout the rest of the day.

  • RPC Pings for Micro.blog

A couple of weeks ago, I asked @manton if he had any plans of adding WebSub support on Micro.blog. While he is interested, I wanted to get a jump-start for my app Elytra.

Elytra supports WebSub as well as RPC style pings. So I made a 3-step Shortcut that fetches data from a xml file and then calls the Elytra API URL to handle the RPC ping. This file is preloaded with information about my microblog.

You can download the shortcut here. Remember to change the contents of the xml file if you plan to use it. You can adapt this to send RPC pings to other services too.

Now I just need to figure out how I can automate this process when using Icro or the Micro.blog iOS app after I submit a new post. If you have tips on that, please let me know.

  • These two seemingly uninteresting photos hold great significance for me. These are shot at sunset and the much softer sunset light signifies the starting of winter in my hometown. My favorite month is finally here.

  • The United States has a strange relationship with food.

I had noticed this myself too when I was there 8 years ago and I see this now in Indian cities too.

As with most south-east Asian countries, India has a vibrant street food culture. I am no longer sure if that is a good or bad thing after reading this post.

  • The first time I implemented Sign In with Apple, it took me roughly half a day to get it working.

Implemented for a another website today and I was up and running within 10 minutes. It’s only hard the first time I guess.

If you havent used it on a website on your iPhone or iPad yet, find a website that supports it and give it a shot. Fun & Fast.

  • Gorgeous sunset last evening.

  • I was watching The Man from Earth last night on Amazon Prime. Before the credits rolled, they showed the trailer for its sequel: Holocene. Seems like I have some proper viewing material for this week. 2 episodes of Titans Season 2, Modern Family. Going to be a fun autumn.

  • Love the colours from the iPhone X. No reason to update to the 11 Pro yet. 😅

  • Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 E-Mount

I got a new lens, the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 E-Mount. Some shots from less than half a day of using.

Immediately after getting the lens, my fiancée and I stopped for some lunch at a local Korean Restaurant (my first time there, they apparently host a lot of cultural exchange programs).

    Fianceé waiting for food

Then some food! Bulgogi Seaweed Noodle Soup Kimchi

At home, my furry friends waited for us. Furry Friend 1 Furry Friend 2

First impressions: Love it! The weight, the focal range, and the colour contrast produced by this lens is beautiful.
